Before releasing "The Auklett Bamboo Toothbrush" we got samples made and gave 70 people (including our friends and family!) various styles of bamboo toothbrushes to test out. We chose an ergonomically curved handle that enables tight comfortable grip for precision brushing, and wavy bristles pattern as having the best 'natural feel' and gives better contact with tooth surfaces.
MATERIAL:
The toothbrush handle is made from Moso Bamboo that is 100% compostable and sustainable. The bristles are made from Bamboo dust with Nylon bristles. The bristles contain nylon 4 - a preferred material for toothbrush bristles according to the International Federation of Dental Hygienists.
Nylon 4 is a BPA and phthalate free.
To make the bamboo mix bristles bamboo material is steamed and dried then ground to dust.
This dust is mixed with nylon 4 and pulled into the bristles. The bristles are great for cleaning sensitive teeth and gums.
USE:
Dentists recommend you change your toothbrush every 3 months. Which means for a family of 4, this is a 3 month supply or for a single person, a 1 year supply! Store your toothbrush in a clean dry area between uses to keep dry.
Once you've finished with your Vegan toothbrush, the nylon bristles are recyclable. The handle can be repurposed, composted or burned. You'll get the same clean sensation you'd get from any plastic tooth brush without harming the environment!

The packaging is plastic free and compostable.

We have a large range of products with free delivery, and for brands that don't provide it there is a small £3.49 flat fee. Please note we only currently deliver to UK mainland customers.
There is an estimated delivery time of 3-5 working days, to reduce the environmental cost and make packing and deliveries more efficient. This time may vary depending on the brand and can be quicker! Please note that if you order from multiple brands you will get separate packages. Help support us and we'll be able to set up our own green warehouses in the future.
Once you receive your order you have 14 days to request a refund, or 30 days if the product is faulty. We will get in touch with the brand in question to check the return and then pass any details to you about sending the product back or arranging a refund if required. Auklett is a small family business, based in London. Both of us are very passionate about the current environmental situation and, over the years, we’ve managed to gather quite a lot of knowledge on the subject.
We firmly believe real change comes from both individual and societal choices, but as a family that still tries to live a plastic-free life every day, we are very aware of how challenging this can be, especially for families and young people.
We’ve decided to use our experience and desire to protect the planet and make it easier for people to find products they can trust are not going to damage the environment.
